EMC News - The March Rural Community Association will host a meeting on storm water management issues and the development of the South March Highlands on Feb. 8.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Town Hall on March Road at Klondike Road, and all residents are invited to attend.
The community association said the meeting will be a fascinating glimpse into the dance of engineering reports, development proposals, city policy, and Ministry of the Environment guidelines against the background of the Beaver Pond, Kizell Drain and the Carp River.
Anyone with water on or near their property will find this a riveting presentation.
PAST MEETING
The January meeting hosted a spirited discussion of where the heart of March Rural is located.
The community association was torn between Riverfront Park along the 6th Line, and the ice rink baseball field on Riddell Drive behind the Fire Hall. Further suggestions would be most welcome.
The association also heard an update on the Kanata North accommodation review for public schools, an update on the last meeting of the Federation of Citizens Association which reviewed proposed development applications, and had a lovely time brainstorming future events.
Winter has finally come to the March Rural area and the ice rink is up and ready for skating. It is located behind the Fire Hall on Riddell Drive. The association thanks the dedicated team of volunteers who work hard to provide decent ice for the community.
